Classroom April Fools' Day Pranks



Amateur stuff…I once took a block of LImburger cheese and placed it on a piece of paper. I taped this paper to the underside of my CFO’s desk, behind the drawer, yes this was done after hours and you need access. He didn’t find the smell for two weeks…and it got worse as time went on.

Do you have a coworker who just can’t keep their eyes open at certain points of the day? Don’t ruin the paint on someone’s car, or break someone’s monitor, or stain their clothing. That’s not a prank, that’s straight-up vandalism. Sometimes you need a little office laughter to break up the day and recharge from all the time spent focusing on the serious stuff. Yes, the classic baby shower game of melted chocolate inside a diaper works great as a timeless April Fools' Prank, too.

Or, for the coworker who takes way too many bathroom breaks during the day. Prank them with their very own throne the next time nature calls. Similar to the Entrance Foghorn, this prank will probably scare more than just the person who sits down.

You need tape, toilet paper, and an unknowing participant. Pranking friends or coworkers is a timeless tradition. The pranks can be simple or elaborate, but are always fun. The Not-Soap Soap - Take a bar of soap and cover it in clear nail polish. When your coworkers go to use the soap, the nail polish will keep it from working. Still … just to keep the office hygienic, leave a clue to where you hid the real soap nearby.

Before trying these tricks, always be sure your "victim" doesn't suffer from food allergies or other health conditions. You don't want a silly prank to become unintentionally harmful. The art of a good prank is to surprise someone with an unexpected event that will cause a reaction that immediately turns positive when they realize it is a joke. Pranks should be harmless – both mentally (doesn’t embarrass or cause stress) and physically (shouldn’t hurt the person or property around them).

Whether you're doing some early April Fool's Day research, or just feeling a little tricksy, it's time to get a prank of your own in the books. College is another excellent opportunity for safe pranking. You can stick to dorm room pranks and senior pranks, or branch out to other types of safe college practical jokes. The night before you plan to do this prank, pour some cereal and milk into a prank 2021 bowl. Then place the bowl in the freezer overnight.

If you have a baby in the home, smear a diaper with chocolate candy or peanut butter; then call in a spouse or child to observe with horror as you taste the mess. About that whole, "At least it's not glitter" thing in prank #9? For the coworkers who don't yet know the permanence of getting glitter on yourself, this prank is sure to set them straight. Work with your IT department to fertilize this prank perfectly.

Make sure the person is not allergic to whatever you put on the phone. Then give the person a call and watch their reaction. We hesitated to put this one on the list because it's so mean. There is nothing meaner than a jump scare, particularly when you know your friend doesn't like jump scares. Still, it's an iconic prank that doesn't require any materials -- other than a profound lack of empathy, of course. This prank, which comes courtesy of BuzzFeed, is simple and potentially very expensive.

Put some duct tape at the opening of the tap in the washbasin before your child goes there. Just as they open the tap, they’ll get sprayed with water. Is your child spending too much time in the bathroom? It is a harmless prank, but make sure you have another real cake for your kid to cut.
